Questions to ask when booking a Bouncy Castle

We aim to provide a high quality service in the same way that most companies do. If you are ringing around for quotes, here are some questions that you might want to ask:

When was your Bouncy Castle last safety tested?

Every Bouncy Castle should be safety tested once a year.

What is the maximum height/age limit on the Bouncy Castle?

Each Bouncy Castle should have manufacturers guidelines that answer this question. It is important to note that a 12' x 12' castle is generally too small for teenagers, so if you want something for them, you will need to hire an inflatable that is at least 15' x 15'. As a guide line children whose head comes above the castle walls are too big to safely play.

How much space do I need for the Bouncy Castle?

Although an inflatable is described as a certain size eg 11' x 13', it will actually need a larger piece of land to put it on becasue of the safety ropes, crashmat and the blower at the back. Our blowers need an extra 6ft.

Are your Bouncy Castles insured?

Every person hiring inflatables should hold public liability insurance, but all hirers should also get their own insurance to cover themselves in the case of an accident whilst the inflatable is being used by them or their guests.

Do you supply a safety/crash mat? How big is it? Do I have to pay extra for it?

Does the company supply a crashmat (not all do) and if so, what size is it? Rather than just dimensions which can be hard to visualize, it is easier to ask if they have any photos on websites that you can look at. As you can see from the photos on our website, our crashmats are fairly large and are well padded. We do not make an extra charge for our crashmats.

Can I use the Bouncy Castle if it rains?

Although most modern bouncy castles come with shower covers, it is worth remembering that the front apron of an inflatable doesn't come underneath the cover and so it will get wet and slippy. Our castles can still be used in light rain, but extra care should be taken when the children are getting on or off of the castles. Check whether the electrical cables supplied are all weather ones or not. An ordinary extension lead with exposed plugs should be switched off immediatley if it starts to rain even a little. We supply a 25m all weather extension lead (the sort used for electrical hook ups on camp sites) which means that our electrics are safe to use even in the rain.

Do you charge for delivery? Are there any hidden costs?
